Pokemon Winds and Waves Announced as Generation 10 Games
During today's Pokémon Presents celebrating 30 years of Pokémon, the tenth generation mainline Pokémon games were revealed. They will be known as Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves. They seem to be set on a tropical island and once again appear to be open world. While not confirmed, the trailer seems to suggests some form of underwater exploration will also be available.
The three starters are the only new Pokémon that were revealed. They will be the "Bean Chick" Browt (Grass), the "Puppy" Pombon (Fire), and "Water Gecko" Gecqua (Water). It also showed a pair of special Pikachu known as Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu that seem like they will be helpers for your adventure.
The pair of games will usher in the next generation of Pokémon exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2027. While it seems like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet just came out, this will actually be the longest gap in Pokémon generations ever. Stay tuned throughout the year as we learn more!
