Chapter 4: River

The River

Pokemon Snap Poliwag Pokemon Snap Bulbasaur Pokemon Snap Vileplume

As you begin the stage, turn to your right and begin luring the first Poliwag down into the lower area. Hit it with some Pokemon Food to make it fall in the water. It will begin jumping in the air, and you can snap it for extra points.

After this, turn to your left and photograph the Bulbasaurs hiding inside the logs. Although this picture isn't very good, we'll come back later for a better one. You'll notice a few Slowpokes up ahead. Take a picture of the first, and use your Pokemon Food to lure the second over to the Shellder sign. He will start fishing with his tail and become a Slowbro.

During this, photograph any of the Shellders that emerge from the water. As you continue forward, hit the Psyduck up ahead with some Pokemon Food to make it jump. Snap it at the height of its jump for extra points. Look up into the trees, and you will notice several Metapods. Try and snap a picture of 1 or 2 of them, and prepare yourself to snap some final pictures of Shellder and a Cloyster as you exit.

Pester Ball

If you've gotten every Pokemon so far, Professor Oak should give you the Pester Ball. This upgrade disturbs Pokemon, allowing you to get better shots. Reselect the River, and you can immediately start by hitting the Bulbasaurs out of their hiding places. You can also hit the Metapods down to get better, up-close, shots.

Pokemon Snap Porygon Pokemon Snap Porygon Button Pokemon Snap Cave Entrance

Finally and most importantly, look to your right as the Cloyster emerges. You should spot several moving triangular hidden objects. Hit them with your Pester Ball and then photograph the Porygons that emerge. The final Porygon will hit a button that will reveal the next stage: the Cave.
